Installation of Quantum GIS ‘Lisboa’ version 1.8

1. The official Quantum GIS Desktop page is http://www.qgis.org

2. In the left part of the page in ‘Main Menu’ section, click download. The link will open that page

3. Scroll down and download the Windows Standalone installer.As the installation file is about 128 MO, take arrangements to access appropriate internet bandwidth connection.

4. Double-click on the installer (The ‘QGIS-OSGeo4W-1.8.0-1-Setup.exe’ file downloaded on your computer):

   • Click Next
   • Accept licence agreement
   • Choose installation folder and click Next
   • Don’t select additionnal components and click Install

5. Installation will require few minutes and restart of your computer.

Once installed, if you want to change default language:

1. start Quantum GIS Desktop
2. Click on ‘Settings’ Menu
3. Click on ‘Options’
4. Click on ‘Locale’ tab
5. Select your prefered language

Please note that tutorials provided will be in english.
